The Sinaloan regional Mexican music group Los Alegres del Barranco has obtained a conditional suspension of the criminal proceedings they were facing for criminal apology, following a concert at the Telmex Auditorium in Zapopan, Jalisco, on March 29, 2025.
During the event, images of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, leader of the Jalisco Cartel – New Generation (CJNG), were projected, which led to an investigation by the authorities.
What does the conditional suspension of proceedings imply?

Compose and disseminate a song with a preventive message, promoting values and keeping youth away from criminal activities.
Donate 50,000 pesos per member to a social cause, yet to be defined.
These measures seek to foster the social reintegration of the accused and promote crime prevention, without this representing an acquittal.
Reactions and actions of Los Alegres del Barranco
In response to the imposed conditions, Los Alegres del Barranco released the song “El Consejo”, in which they promote the rejection of violence and organized crime.
The group also expressed its commitment to the agreed measures and welcomed the opportunity to repair the damage caused.
Despite the conditional suspension of the proceedings for the concert in Zapopan, the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office maintains open other investigations against Los Alegres del Barranco for the apology of crime in presentations made in Tequila, Cihuatlán and Villa Purificación.
