What does it really mean to “do the work” of healing? In the latest episode of the Mujeres Create podcast, renowned strategist and communicator Yesenia Bello dives into a deep, honest and necessary conversation with Jason Rosario, one of the most influential voices at the intersection of culture, business and men’s mental health. HERE you can listen to the podcast.

Titled “Jason Rosario Rewrites the Script of Masculinity,” this episode breaks down gender barriers to explore how trauma, Dominican culture and the corporate environment shape men’s identities and, consequently, their relationships with women and organizations.

Yesenia Bello’s leadership brings a unique sensibility to the program.

With a distinguished background in the media and advertising industry, Yesenia has built Mujeres Create as a safe space for self-discovery and empowerment.

Her ability to connect from her own experience as a Dominican woman and creative leader allows her guests to shed their armor.

On the other hand, Jason Rosario comes to the table with an impressive resume that balances the coolness of finance with the warmth of creativity.

A former diversity director at global agency BBDO and current founder of The Lives of Men, Rosario has dedicated his career to helping organizations find alignment through their people.

His LinkedIn biography, which Yesenia describes as “a poem of humanity,” is only the surface of a man who is equally fluent in the language of spreadsheets and emotional healing.

The “AHA” Framework and Generational Healing

During the talk, Jason shares visceral moments from his childhood in New York as the son of a single mother and how violence in his home forced him to become “the protector” at age 14.

This early maturity, common in many Latino households, is analyzed by both as a catalyst for ambition, but also as a barrier to play and creativity in adulthood.

One of the most revealing points is the presentation of Jason’s AHA framework for healing:

A for Awareness: Recognize who you are and where you come from.

H for Honesty: Admit where you are failing with respect to your own vision.

A stands for Action: Taking concrete steps to change.

Masculinity, mental health and the corporate future

Jason and Yesenia also address the leadership crisis in companies.

“The corporate world is still a male hierarchical structure,” says Rosario, noting that a lack of empathy is what really holds back the success of large organizations.

For Jason, men’s work is only “half the table”; the other half belongs to women, and only through collaboration and mutual compassion can the negative impact of patriarchy on both genders be dismantled.

A message of Dominican hope

With Dominican pride in the forefront, the episode closes with a reflection on the culture and stigma of “toxicity” in social networks.

Jason calls on Latino men to be more than a “joke” and to take their mental health and their role in the community seriously.

Mujeres Create gives us an hour of goosebumps, tears and revelations that promise to change the way we view the men in our lives and in our offices.

The episode is now available on QuéOnnda TV’s YouTube channel, where you can also listen to other titles promoted by QuéOnnda and Nueva Network, such as ¿Y Tú Qué Onnda?
