Although it is known that the series will be a crime drama with fictional elements covering themes such as power, loyalty and survival through Coronel’s experiences with Guzman, who was considered one of the most powerful drug lords in the world along with Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias ‘El Mencho’, who was killed Sunday by Mexican authorities.

According to the production team, Guzmán will not participate in the series, however, Coronel pointed out that her husband has followed Amaya’s work after having played Aurelio Casillas in the ten seasons of ‘El señor de los cielos’.

In addition to being an executive producer, Coronel will have an active participation in the selection of the cast of the series, especially in the character that will embody her story.

Emma Coronel is known for being the third wife of ‘El Chapo’ and for having served a three-year sentence in the United States for various drug trafficking-related charges until September 2023.

Guzmán’s figure has fueled the popularity of drug trafficking series around the world, reported Agencia EFE, as his criminal activity has been portrayed on screen in other titles such as ‘El Chapo’, starring Marco de la O, as well as ‘Narcos: Mexico’, starring Alejandro Edda.
