The docuseries about the life of soccer player James Rodriguez will be released on May 21, a production in which the player, who currently plays for Minnesota United of the MLS, tells his story in first person, Netflix reported Friday.
“For the first time James Rodriguez tells his story in first person and reveals the path he traveled to become a symbol on and off the court,” the platform said in a statement after launching the trailer for the series.

In three episodes, the documentary series ‘James’ “traces an intimate journey” through the moments that defined the footballer’s career: from his beginnings and his consecration in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, to his time at clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, as well as his return to the Colombian National Team in the 2024 Copa America, the information added.
The production, directed by Colombian Simon Brand, will allow fans of the 34-year-old “to understand the journey, the decisions and the mentality of the ’10’, and everything that fans need to see and know” before the World Cup, in which Rodriguez is expected to play a leading role.
It will also feature unpublished images and testimonials from Colombian stars such as Luis Díaz, Radamel Falcao and David Ospina, Spain’s Sergio Ramos and Brazil’s Marcelo, as well as former Colombia coach José Néstor Pékerman and Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, his two main mentors.

“With the 2026 World Cup just around the corner – and perhaps facing the last great opportunity of his career to reach a new summit – the series relives his glory, acknowledges the challenges that forged him and, in his own voice, delivers an honest testimony of his life,” added Netflix, reported Agencia EFE.
