U.S. President Donald Trump hinted Friday that he may be considering limited military action (strike) against Iran as a pressure measure to reach a deal with Tehran to limit its nuclear program.
“I guess I can say I’m considering it,” Trump responded to questions from reporters at the White House about a possible smaller-scale attack on Iran, near which the U.S. has ordered a large deployment of warships.
Trump sets deadline and military deployment

Trump’s statements come after this Thursday, during the first meeting of the Peace Board in Washington, he marked a ten-day deadline to decide whether or not to carry out a military strike on Iran.
Both CNN and The New York Times reported this week that the U.S. military is prepared to attack Iran imminently, pending final presidential authorization.
Indeed, U.S. military deployment around Iran has increased in recent weeks.
The aircraft carrier U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford, which was part of the Caribbean fleet during the operation against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, was approaching the Strait of Gibraltar Wednesday to join the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln, already stationed in Middle Eastern waters, according to The Times.

The U.S. military reinforcement also includes dozens of aerial refueling tankers.
As well as more than 50 additional fighter jets and two carrier strike groups, along with its destroyers, cruisers and submarines, U.S. officials told the newspaper.
Parallel to the military activity, U.S. talks with Iran are being held by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Israel is also preparing for a possible joint strike with the United States, according to The New York Times, which cites two Israeli Defense sources.
